[Ext-GDE-51] ML Change Request (June 11, 2006) was Accepted



Dear Colleagues,

I am announcing that the CCB response, with regards to the latest
Change Request for the Main Linac section, is now posted at -

The change request was submitted by C.Adolphsen, representing the ML
AG on June 12, 2006 (JST).  This change request mainly relates to
layout specifications for the cryostats, beam position monitors,
focusing quads and the associated orbit correction dipole magnets.
Another part of the change request relates to elimination of a
duplicate subsection (cryogenics). In addition, the Change Request
included a revision of the number of RF units to consider, reflecting
the latest information on the cavity length, energy overhead
and elimination of BNS damping.

This change request was classified as Class 1. After a review
process, CCB has accepted this change request as is. An updated ML 
section, together with all-in-one PDF and MSWord files, are posted 
under the area for the Latest Official Version of BCD at:

It was unfortunate that it took a rather long time (almost a month)
to complete the review process for this change request. It was due 
mainly to interruptions by an international conference and commitment 
by the relevant colleagues on other GDE business (THE costing).

Notwithstanding all these hardships, we strongly encourage 
all the Area and Global System Leaders to continue submitting change 
requests, so that we all ensure that the RDR descriptions are made 
consistent with BCD. In case you have questions concerning the level
of technical details to incorporate in BCD, please, direct your inquiries
to CCB. As found necessary, CCB will consult the relevant management
bodies (EC and Boards) for the best solutions.
