Dear Colleagues, I am announcing that CCB has received a change request for the Conventional Facility and Siting Section from members of the CF/S Global Group, represented by Atsushi Enomoto. The change request relates to insertion of a description of the Asian Sample site to consider in RDR, which is currently missing in the latest version of BCD. The requesters did not specify suggested classification of this request. (Check the following URI for the standard procedure: http://www.linearcollider.org/wiki/doku.php?id=bcd:bcd_home ). The CCB chair (Toge) is classifying this request as Class 0 and is assigning himself as the reviewer. Now this request is brought to review by CCB and is open to general discussion. If any members of GDE or GDE-related task groups have comments or questions on this request, please direct them to ml-ccb@xxxxxxxxxxxx by the end of Monday, March 6, PST. Best regards, - Nobu Toge (KEK, Accelerator Lab) for CCB email: toge@xxxxxxxxxxxx voice: +81-29-864-5224 fax: +81-29-864-3182

- Date: Sat, 4 Mar 2006 10:56:44 +0900Dear Nobu, We are submitting a BC change request for the section of Conventional Facilities and Siting as follows - Contact: Atsushi Enomoto (atsuhi.enomoto@xxxxxx) Change Request Summary: Replace "9.3 Asian Sample Site" with the contents of the attached word file. Replacement Text: Please, look up the attached word file.
Description: MS-Word documentClassification in Requester's View: Class 0. Change Request Description: The Dec.2005 version of BCD has descriptions of the Asian Sample Site missing, because all the necessary clearance by relevant parties including the Japanese funding agency was not completed at that time. The new version contains pertinent characteristics information on the Asian Sample Site for use in RDR. This Asian sample site was picked up from one of the locations that are currently under study in Japan. More detailed information will be made available within relevant members of GDE as the RDR efforts proceed. However, this sample Asian site is given only for studies of the facility design, construction scenario and cost in the RDR context. It has to be emphasized that we are *not* identifying an ILC site candidate from Japan/Asia. Therefore, in order not to give false impressions of being such a site candidate (which is not), when copied and quoted out of context, we are not offering map which allows the third parties to identify the where-about of this site. Impacts: The insertion of the contents in this section provides the CF/S group with a reasonably solid ground for parallel efforts of cost and related studies of ILC conventional facilities in three regions, and is expected to facilitate GDE's understanding of the issues we would face during construction in a realistic setting. Supporting Materials: None Sincerely, - Atsushi Enomoto
